Using Handcent but have a minor problem

I am using Handcent and love it. The only problem is when I receive a text message, I get 2 notifications. One from Handcent and one from the stock messaging app on the phone. How do I stop the stock messaging app for good and stop notifying me??

I went into the stock messages app and opened settings, then unchecked auto retrieve, and just for good measure I also unchecked the notification upon recieving.
