Help Using microSD card from previous phone

Hi,

Im new in the neighborhood. I just acquired the new HTC Thunderbolt from Verizon. Im getting lots of great tips and ideas from alot of my new phandroid friends (thank you lots). The problem im having I can't seem to load my pix,videos, sounds and ringtones I have saved on my old micro sd card from my prev phone ( LG Envy- Yes I held on to that phone for a while) so is there something im not doing. My thinking is once i put it into place i expect it to download them into the phone but i guess its not that easy. I would greatly appreciate the help

use the phone as a card reader to copy the contents of the old phone to a computer over USB, then format the card for your new phone, then copy everything back onto it. that way the phone's OS should recognise the newly formatted card and will work properly, and you will have handily backed up your data in the process
