Using personal email to set up phone...

Just wondering... when you first flash/get an android phone it asks for a googlemail account to set things up.... and with it saves contacts and calanders and some apps (i think...)

is there a way to use a different non gmail account for this?

You can use any email account you want but you will not have any access to the android market.... without having a gmail account
 
would it be possible to use one of the other markets out there? or would it still need to be a google mail account?

What do you mean "other markets"? there is only one android market... Just sign up for a gmail account, its free and then your phone will work properly..
 
I set one up but I was just wanting to use a specific one... there are a number of different markets that people have released... there are some which only have free stuff some that have a more universal market... i have also found one dedicated to porn... which was rubbish!!

I'll probably just stick with it... I have about 12 email accounts and I'm trying to consolidate them all down and the extra gmail account just adds to it all...

Ta anyway...
 
think so.... just google for the other markets.... there was an abundance of ladyboys on it so wasn't all too interested in it!! lol!!
