Using Samsung Kies Backup After Rooting

Hi, I recently backed up my texts using Samsung Kies an then rooted it and installed AndyX Rom 12.1. But the problem is now that I have tried to restore those texts using Kies, it won't work. Is it because Kies won't work after rooting and installing a custom rom? If so, is there any way to get my texts back?

I asked more or less the same several days ago and still nothing... guess.. nobody does that, nobody here backups using kies and later change their S2's..

I answered this in the thread you are speaking about. Once you root and start changing stuff around, you can't use the Kies program. At least as far as I have ever seen. Kies recognizes that your phone isn't running factory firmware and it just doesn't jive anymore.

As far as I am aware, the only way to be able to use those backups you made, is to flash back to an original Samsung firmware.

On another note, there are several programs you can use to backup all your apps and messages once you are rooted, but this doesn't help you getting your pre-root messages back.

I've just installed AndyX v13, (based on the NEE csc/firmware) with the CF-Root kernel that ships with the rom, and Kies happily recognises the phone - and tells me there's no update available(!) May be worth wiping, upgrading to v13, and retrying Kies? I can't see there's much to lose, but might be something to gain! :)
