Help Using screen while phone is laying flat...

This definitely will not appeal to everyone, but I sometimes like to use my phone when it's laying flat on a table or my bed; has anyone done this and how's the screen response when doing so? For me, the touches/swipe are inconsistent. For example when using pattern lock, I cannot "connect the dots" while the phone is laid flat, I sometimes have to pick it up to get it done. Anyone?

u might want to check the unresponsive screen when in car dock thread

seems some phones have grounding issues and you need to touch a metal part of the phone to complete the ground.
