Root Using stock nandroid for ota gb update

Hello, I'm new to the droid X, I'm rooted and running apex 1.4.1. My question is can I use my stock nandroid backup to get the gb ota update? I hear everyone use the term sbf to go back, but I don't know what sbf is. My last phone was the lg ally with velocity 1.0 and I've never heard that term in those forums.

Yes, you can nandroid back and use z4root to unroot the phone when it's time for OTA as long as you didn't rename or remove any files from the system folder before you did a nandroid backup.
