Using tethering while connected to a wireless network instead of verizon

I'm trying to set my old droid up to basically be a signal amplifier for my home network. Can It be done?

To explain what I want better:

Can I use Wireless tethering while I'm connected to my home network?


Wireless-Network>Droid>Other-devices
Don't ask why I need it I just want to know if it can be done & if so how?

Edit: This phone can no longer connect to Verizon Wireless since I upgraded nor do I want it to.

I do not believe that is possible. In effect, you're trying to use the same radio for both connecting and broadcasting, and that is why it is not probably going to work.
