using the x10 mini pro on VIRGIN network

Hi all, just a quick question, i bought my Father in law a x10 mini pro on Vodaphone but it seems that he doesnt want to leave Virgin!!!!
My question is, Would it cause any problems if i were to UNLOCK the phone so he can use it with his Virgin PAYG sim, Would there be any probs with MARKET or anything else???

have tried 2 android forums now and NO ONE wants to answer this question!!!!! very strange......but....i got the answer now
