Help Using Wireless Tether and PDANet simultaneously

I tried using pdanet and wireless hotspot at the same time to see what would happen and if there would be any kind of speed increase (there wasn't). I figured that much since the phone can only bring in so much data at a time.

But my question is when I have both turned on and connected to my laptop and I am downloading a file, say a music or video file, everything is just peachy. However, when I disconnect one of them the download speed decreases to almost stopping before working up to speed again.

I looked in Network Sharing, both are connected, wireless tether doesn't show activity, so I tried turning that off on the phone. It doesn't matter which one is disconnected, it happens either way, the download would grind to a halt.

So I was basically curious if the phone is using both connections, then why would it stop instead of just slowing somewhat? If it is not using both, then why would disconnecting one affect both connections?

Your phone can only use one connection at a time, even though it "sees" both, and the phone gets confused when one is disconnected. Same thing happens on a computer that you have hard wired and wireless. It is usually using whatever connection you connected last.
