V/M to Metro PCS?

So...... If I want to move from Virgin Mobile to Metro PCS, can I just use a Metro SIM card in my V/M F3?

I'm betting my luck isn't THAT good!!

Is there anyway to do it?

Thanks for any help!! :thumb:

its a UICC Sim Card
all it does is authorize you for an LTE connection to the network.
otherwords no, sorry.

Virgin Mobile uses CDMA, Metro/T-Mobile is GSM. Therefore the hardware is incompatible and you can't use a VM F3 on the Metro/T-Mo network. If you want to switch carriers you'll need a new phone that's GSM.

But in some cases if its a CDMA with a uicc card aka 4glte card the phone is already unlocked to use on other gsm carriers all you will need to see if its a ril patch to help convert to gsm . but your device doesn't have this capability.

I have a T-mobole F6 and for kicks and giggles I tried sticking a T-mobile sim card into my girlfriend's VM F3 and is said unrecognizable sim. As a matter of fact after putting her LTE (UICC) sim back in it actually freaked out and didn't reconnect to any data. After yet another reboot it finally connected with ease... after a few heart attacks.

I still don't know if the F3 have both chipsets in the phone. The exterior hardware look the same but I just don't know if they are the same or not on the inside.
