So I recorded my son today running around outside (very bright/sunny) I noticed the video is a lot darker then the 4g. I went back and reviewed some videos I have taken in the past in sunlight and sure enough the 4g vids are bright , vivid, and very clear/sharp and the vids I took today are crap compared

Was wondering if this is a problem anybody else have noticed and if there are some settings to make it on par with the 4g (i just had default settings and I'm clueless on photography)

One quick and easy "fix" -- tap on an area of the screen you want to focus on. The light metering is adjusted accordingly.

Also, feel free to play with the "Contrast" and "Exposure" sliders (among others) in "Image adjustments."
