Destroying Balls Everyday
Anyone else here watch that show? Just watched the season finale and so much to talk about! I feel like I'm like the lone person in this world that watches it. hehe

i think agree with you. you are the only person that watches it! :D

how they canceled flash forward and not v is beyond me. will be interesting to see how long it last when its not following lost anymore.

I watch it. My wife liked it from the beginning so I just watched it with her, but it has really grown on me. I really like it now.

I tried watching flash forward but couldn't get into it.

BTW I thought the season finale of V was pretty good.

dont mean to hijack this thread, but has anyone else noticed that they are still advertising the SEASON FINALE of flash forward. u think the writers might be hoping a lesser network will pick it up?

....annnnnnnnd back to the "v" discussion :p

I watch it only because as a kid, the original V mini-series, final battle, and ensuing seasons were one of my favorite shows. (Though the seasons after the 2 mini-series weren't nearly as good)

The updated show is alright. It is an updated version with some similarities yet a new spin on it. But if I wasnt a fan of the original I don't know if I'd have even started watching the new one. But now I'm sucked into it and I'm sure I'll follow the next season now.

I heard that there might a long hiatus for the show. I hope not! The show's too good to be gone for so long. I've heard that it might be somewhere around November. I don't exactly know how shows work, but I hope the next season gets a lot more episodes than this one.

My favorite scene out of the whole season: Anna's anguish in the final episode. That was just awesome. I kept repeating that scene over and over again, cause it was so delicious!

I've never seen the original one. What "new spin" are you talking about, gabbott?

New seasons usually start in the fall. Summertime for the networks just consist of re-runs, thats usually how it works so not surprised it'll be a bit before the next season. They'll probably rerun the first season again in hopes of getting more viewers for the second season.

The new spin.. well for one, the whole vistors not having emotion and their focus on that is new. The plot-line about some of the visitors have been among us for years is new, wasnt like that in the original. There is a similarity in both shows that the visitors tried to convince the humans they were are friends, but in the original they didn't try to be so peaceful, there was alot more visitor "military" presence and they actively rounded up scientists and intellectuals (the resistance ended up being the ones that escaped capture and went into hiding).

There was a half-human/half-alien baby in the orginal but the whole story line behind that was completely different.

Oh and the leader in the original, her name was Diana as opposed to Anna.

I recommend getting V-the orignal mini-series and V-the final battle on DVD. It is early 80s TV mini-series type stuff so it is dated but it was a good show. The actual series after the two TV mini-series movies goes downhill plot-wise, but those two are good enough on their own since thats about 6 hours of content.

In this one they havent really given the reason they have come to earth so it'll be interesting to see if it is for the same reason in the original (I won't give that away). In the new one they seem more interested in studying humans.

Oh and Robert Englund is in the orginal and plays a different type role for him. He is in it more for comedic reasons almost.

I've been watching V - and enjoying it for the most part. I'm still partial to the orginal (and bad-ass Ham Tyler), but the new one has gotten better in the last few weeks. Nice finale. I wasn't sure it would survive to a second season, but we'll be getting at least another 13 eps.

I liked FlashForward a lot initially, but I've been losing some interest in it as the season continued. The ratings for FF at the end have been just awful.

Wow, thank you for making that detailed post!

I really hope that V goes through to the end of the story, wherever it ends. The finale left a LOT of questions unanswered, but I guess I'll have to wait for them to be answered. My friend and I were wondering why Anna was in such agony when she found out their eggs were killed if she just already had her massive fleet ready to enter? Why in the world was Joshua brought back by Marcus? Is the new human/V baby going to play an important role? Why did Joshua call Lisa, queen, and Lisa acted as if she expected it? Are the V's going to die by that deadly virus in the end? What is Kyle Hobbs really going to do? Is Ryan going to go against the 5th Column? and the MOST important question... Why wont Tyler just die? lol (he annoys the hell out of me... typical oblivious, naive male character)

There are many more questions to just those that I have. I like the way that the show ended its 1st season, leaving so many big questions open. It's a really good hook to try to keep up its ratings for 2nd season. I'm not sure exactly how popular it was but it seems to have captured a following, like LOST. I'm sure it's not as big as LOST, but it should grow. The story is just too good!

I remember watching the first episode and being very impressed by the special effects. Special effects for TV shows have really come a long way. The acting is quite good in my opinion, especially Anna. There's something about her character where you become hooked to her. You want to hate her, but her demeanor makes you want to like her too. It also helps that she looks absolutely flawless.

I guess one thing that bothers me is the surveillance on the V ships. I would think that they would have some kind of surveillance in every major room, especially when they realized that there were 5th Column members on board. I was surprised that Lisa was able to get into the room with the eggs with basically no trouble. You would think that Anna would want at least 1 guard protecting that room since it's so precious to her.

I think changing the name from Diana to Anna was a good decision. Anna sounds a bit more authoritative and suited for a high commander. Diana sounds like it could be her daughter's name.

Yeah, good questions, Vihzel. It'll be interesting what happens, in alot of ways Lisa seems to want to go against her mother, whether she has plans or not she does seem very conflicted. I also wondered why Joshua was brought back. One thing that has crossed my mind is that Anna's second in command, Marcus, might not be completely loyal to Anna.

The surveillance issue bothered me too. For a race so advanced they can't seem to keep an eye on their own ships. Also, since they are so advanced and tapped into the humans communications, how can everyone in the fifth column be able to communicate via cell phones without the vistors knowing. Erica had a cell phone on the mothership and used it to excuse herself from the dinner, yet Anna didn't know if she really had a call or not? Anna seems so trusting of Erica, yet Marcus seems to know so much about Hobbes and even told Hobbes he has actually been working for them, so I assume the mysterious woman that Hobbes talks to is a visitor and he has told her everything about the people in the fifth column. So all that is what makes me question Marcus' loyalty to Anna or if he has another agenda.

I think there are some alliances being made that arent straightforward. Isn't necessary humans vs visitors, some people have their own self-interests in the alliances being made which always creates twists. There was some of the same in the original.

I guess we'll know more as the story unfolds. I agree the Tyler character is kind of annoying. That whole storyline is interesting, Anna seems to really focus on that and it appears to get closer to Erica. It is as if for Anna, everything hinges on Erica, but why? It is as if the key to domination of the human race hinges on an FBI field agent.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling, they have certainly gotten us to watch another season, that is for sure.
