hey guys sorry ive been out all day and i probably wont be for like 3 or 4 more hrs but ill def take a look at that in the morning. i should be able to just swap they button layout but if not as a last resort i can rob the msm folder for the oc and maybe fix that

Problems I've noticed with that kernel:
1) Wifi will stay on, but stays at "turning off" and won't reset so you can turn on again.
2) scary and smartass governors are not in that kernel.
3) Key mapping is wrong
4) Random reboots on 1.9GHz (might just be me, seems ok at 1.5GHz), but random freezes either way...also on stock 1GHz it'll freeze up a bit.
5) Phone takes longer to startup? As in mounting SD card...
6) the notification bar stopped working all of a sudden, and was slightly offcenter (was up higher than it should cutting off top of icons in notification bar. Maybe due from one of the freezes? Not sure...
7) Also after notification bar stopped working, a widget's notification wouldn't go away...again, maybe from freeze.
8) Also no undervolt?

There might be others that I can't remember, but I would prefer a kernel built from Triumph's sources so we know everything will work. Compare Ideos X6 kernel to yours pwnyourace to see what settings are different and make appropriate changes in yours. I'm a total noob when coming to programming, so I have no idea how this works.

It seems to me the Ideos X6 kernel only has overclocking and nothing else like in this test kernel. Have you tried just adding overclocking for a test run? Maybe use the overclocking tables or whatever in Ideos X6 in your kernel? Again...I have no idea if it's possible. But that's what I'm noticing.

The only problems I've had are random reboots when cpu is set to 1.5ghz or higher and I think the wifi problem is related to the cpu speed. When I set the cpu to 1.4ghz Wifi works but when in 1.7 It starts to give me issues.

I'll flash Ideos X6 kernel again to check. Maybe 1.7GHz caused some unstability, but I switched back to lower after testing quadrant and linpack. I'll check wifi with different frequencies.

EDIT: at stock 1GHz on Ideos X6 kernel
Tried disabling wifi and got (I did not wait until SD card mounted):
1) FC on Wireless settings...freezing.
2) Notification bar is frozen (can't pull down).
Gonna power off and try again...

EDIT2:
Now at stock 1GHz, it just keeps restarting. I'm not touching anything...just restarts.

EDIT 3:
Now frozen on lock screen...again 1GHz. Have to pull battery.

EDIT 4:
Rebooted once lockscreen came up. Happened twice.

EDIT 5:
Re-flashed Ideos X6 kernel. Frozen lockscreen. Can't unlock or power off. Pull battery.

EDIT 6:
Unlocked immediately as opposed to letting it load. Rebooted...

So I'm not sure why some aren't seeing errors. But I'm experiencing a ton with this kernel. As of now, It's not even staying on without rebooting like crazy. And for some reason, it reboots before or during mounting of SD card.

FINAL EDIT:
I just wanted to test the last 4 kernels from pwnyourace.

Test 8: Wifi shows error when starting as others reported. BUT NO REBOOTS!
Test 9: Wifi error.
Test 10: No boot, stuck on Motorola logo.
Test 11: No boot, stuck on Motorola logo.

So in my opinion, the ideos X6 kernel is a good reference to get overclocking working, but it is unstable on Triumph. I have never had so many damn reboots or freezes in my life. Continue development with your kernel pwnyourace. Good work :)
 
i was kinda thinking he could use the clock tables out of this kernel and use them in twisted kernel.... i kinda have a feeling that its not that easy :p

yea ive been thinking about that and a kernel based on your phones actual source seems like the better route, gunna take a look at it now and see what we can get going using that as a reference and maybe we can use the oc tables
 
it booted and the overclock is there! :D it goes up to 1900mhz!!!! but wifi errors out....

EDIT: also, keymapping is all good

ok 15 the only thing i changed was the UV, his acpu file was setup real weird and idk what else to do to UV it, gunna put 14 in the OP looks like this is as far as we r gunna get for now, wait, one more test, gunna try doing the edit i did in 16 but without the UV and see if it boots, if it does then yay we have a RC if not then yay we have an RC :p Tobenamed-Kernel_test17.zip
