friends I'm trying to use gingerbreak to root 2.2.2 p509 - so far nothing.
I have two downloaded zips, but neither has any real instructions.
so I'm flying blind.
supposedly [according to one of many threads I've read] one should be able to simply install from file manager. that fails. it doesn't know what to do with the file. [es file mgr]
tried z4root - parse error but its not recommended for 2.2.2 anyway so back to gingerbreak.
if someone could just point me to a valid download [just to be sure I've got the right stuff] and a step-by-step - I can certainly follow directions. doesn't matter if its shell commands or whatever, just the quickest/surest way.
