Root Vanilla root 2.1: auto update to 2.2.?

So I have a vanilla rooted 2.1 and I'm not worried right now about losing root as I don't need a wifi hotspot anymore.

Is this safe or should I simply wait for a rooted version of the final 2.2?

i wouldn't. if you're really not concerned about losing root, I would unroot by flashing a RUU PC136img (Index of /shipped/Supersonic) then go from there.

Make sure before you start flashing ruu, you start out with 0.76.2000 hboot not 0.79
