Help Various Issues, Reset?

So, I really like my Galaxy Nexus, no doubt, but there are a number of nagging issues with the phone for me that dont really amount to much alone, but together are kind of annoying. My phone is stock, not rooted, plain 4.1.1 Verizon version.

One of the most annoying issues, or at least worrying, is when I turn on my phone, ever since around the time of the last update it takes a very long time to boot up. When I say a long time, I think it is in the neighborhood of 2-3 minutes. It gives the vibrate and says Google on the screen, and then just waits. Once it finally shows the boot animation it seems to start up normally, but whatever it is doing while it shows the "Google" on the screen takes forever. It does this every time I start the phone no matter what from what I can tell.

I also have issues with sending picture messages. They just don't send. My phone says they are sent, but they never arrive. Well, I shouldn't say never, usually roughly 2 weeks later I will get a reply that doesn't make any sense, and it turns out to be related to an MMS that has finally arrived. I don't know if that is a Verizon issue, or my phone, but I almost exclusively just send photos as email attachments now as a workaround.

Also, voice search does not seem to work correctly sometimes. When I hit the microphone I get the initializing screen and it just churns on that until I give up and type. Sometimes it works better when on 4G rather than my home wifi, but my Nexus 7 works fine on my home wifi, so I don't know what the difference might be in the phone.

Now for the question at hand. Would a full factory reset fix any of these things? I'm talking wipe the whole system. Or are these common issues that my Google abilities failed in finding results for? It is kind of getting embarrassing to have this nice Android phone that works sorta most of the time.

the long boot time happens to me intermittently... somehow the phone shuts down improperly now. However, I used to get random reboots almost daily and I've only had 1 or 2 since the update (2 months ago or so?) --- thats pretty good.

I used to have an issue with picture messages (back on 4.0.2), but i think it has since been fixed... however, it would always it didnt send and I could retry until it said sent.

ya, voice search can be pretty hit or miss. But I don't experience any 'hanging', except maybe rarely.

I can't comment on the full factory reset... hopefully others more experienced in that will chime in...
