Various problems since factory reset

Lurker
Since factory resetting (to fix the wifi), I have had the following niggly problems:

(i) "System UIDs inconsistent" message on start up. I hitt the "feeling lucky" button and the pad seems to work OK

(ii) weather widget won't allow me to change location, so it is stuck on Shaghai. Fails with:

"Sorry! The application WeatherForecast (process com.android.weatherforecast) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"

(iii) can't change wallpaper

(iv) the Weather Channel app has stopped working - allows me to choose a UK location, but not getting any forecast info

Any ideas how to remedy some or all of these ? Reflashing ? Rooting ?? I haven;t done anything else to my Flytouch except the factory reset

Thanks,
Keith.

I would try reflashing with a stock rom. Remember not to add any bootloader file to the Sd card if you think you may be considering returning the pad.

I think there are a coupe links to stock roms in the All Thing Rooted Section. Just make sure they are correct for your model.

Also did you try the software or hardware reset? I would try the hardware if you did not.

I tried a hardware reset (pin in the reset hole), which did nothiing to cure the wifi issue, then I did the software reset (power + menu + back button).

I will give a go with the stock rom.
what is the bootloader file ? I have downloaded tim 5a, and the two files in there are firmware2 and firmware-discovery.

model number DISC010

android version 2.2-20110529

kernel version 2.6.32.9 zjd@dtlinuxserver#1

build number FRF85B

Some roms come with a bootloader file. The bootloader contains information other than what is needed to flash. They can change your opening splash screen. So if your tablet originally had a picture of the little green android, it might start with the Android World logo or something else. Also a bootloader could contain information not compatible to your tablet. So if you get a rom that does contain the bootloader just don't copy it to the sd card with the other two files.

From what I have read this will fix the problem most often.

Do a factory reset by powering on the tablet holding down the power+menu+home buttons until you see the recovery screen start, then wait for the tab to restart. This will wipe everything back to factory original, but it won't erase any data from your external sd card.
