Hello,

I have received the contacts as a vcf file on my android phone and can't open it or add them to contacts. Any easy suggestions please

Welcome to the forums :)

perhaps a bit more information about your device. what is it? what OS are you running? and how are you trying to "import" the contacts into the device?

Thanks for the welcome :)

And thank you for the reply. Its E 20 Intel Inside machine, no brand except the mobile/cell network.

Android OS and I have imported the contacts through bluetooth from a blackberry.

But lost from trying to open that file and not really happy about it :/

you could try going into google contacts on the computer and importing the vcf file from the computer and see if that works.

Notepad is an accessory on a Windows PC.

Mac and Linux have plain text editors like Notepad.

A plain text editor should open and read those files.

One thing with Notpad as the choice of text editor. It only handles the Windows CR/LF line endings so it's possibly not the best choice for editing something destined for Linux (and I'm guessing Android) where there is a chance you might find a program that only handles LF line endings. I believe the alternative Wordpad on Windows can handle these correctly.

Finally done it through the google contacts. But I didn't expect it to be not that straight forward, I didn't have my contacts on google, and I didn't want to.

Why not make it easier, I mean the file was transfered through bluetooth between the two phones smoothly. Why did it had to be that way to open the vcf file and had to be asking and all that time when simply it can be in another format file or something and can be opened easier !
