Vehicle dock and phone protector

Hi,

Has anyone used a car dock with a GS2 fitted with a case protector?

I have ordered the official case protector (the mesh vent case) and am looking to get a car dock too, only I am thinking the phone may not fit into it as there will be extra bulk.

I use the official S2 case and have this week taken delivery of the official Samsung Car Dock. Had read on another forum that you could use it with the case but you can't really. It barely fits in there and is very likely to fall out when driving. To be honest its very easy to remove the case so I think I'm gonna keep it. Very nice bit of kit, if rather pricey.

There's a fair few options cheaper options on ebay. The only warning I would give you with those is that they won't charge the phone quickly enough when your using gps, ie the battery will constantly be draining. You don't get that issue with the official dock.

Which official S2 case do you use? I have the Samsung Premium Leather Black Case (flip style) but instead use one of the S-wave / S-line cases as I've found it much better. I would like to take audio out of the phone in the car through the USB port (as per the official Car Dock) but nothing else seems to provide this functionality. Is there any way of dismantling the car dock to allow it to accept a phone with a case?
