Veho Pebble Portable Battery

I ordered 2 of them since you guys said it could provide 4-5 charges and thats very good for the price. I have more expensive chargers that delivers 3 charges max.

I've just received my pebble but so far I am only getting 2 charges on the desire. I doubt the battery will improve dramatically to give me a lot more. Is anyone else finding this is the case?

Bit of a thread resurrection, but I think my Pebble may be faulty. If I use the USB bale from HTC, it charges OK and shows as "Charging USB" but if I use the Veho cable and microusb adapter, as soon as I connect the phone, the Pebble shuts off, and won't power back up until I put it on charge, even for a few seconds. Anyone else had that issue?

I bought a Pebble a few weeks back, great product.

Yours does sound faulty. Send it back for a new one.

I use the supplied cable and my desire says AC charging
I only get about 2.5 charges out of it (I normally recharge as soon as the battery meter goes red)

I'll try a full cycle of the pebble to see if that improves things.

I've found the cause, it's the little micro USB adapter. There's an intermittent short on it. I've just done a full charge of my Desire from 8% to 100% in 3 hours, showing as "Charging AC" using the supplied cable, the supplied mini USB adapter and a 3rd party mini to micro USB adapter. The Pebble still has 3 lights lit. I'll contact the supplier and see if they'll send me just the adapter.

I know that this is a two year old post but that is the relevant bit.

About the time of this original post I bought a Pebble for my Desire. After two weeks I returned that Pebble because the USB socket was very loose. The replacement seemed better and has worked ok for nearly two years.

However in the last few weeks it has become unreliable in that the USB cable wobbles in the socket which is not very helpful when on the move. If I can keep the Pebble static it will still charge my Desire but almost any movement interrupts charging. I have tried several different USB cables.

I have measured the internal dimension of the Pebble USB socket, across its width, and found it to be 13mm. When I measure several other USB sockets my micrometer reads 12.5mm. I also note that the plastic tongue inside the socket moves far more that the tongues in other sockets.

I am now trying to charge my Desire, from the Pebble, by inserting two pieces of plasticard each side of the USB plug; so far all is working and seems resistant to movement.

I don't know whether or not the Pebble USB socket has widened in the two tears I have used it; used several times per week.

I am wondering what permanent "repair" I can make to the Pebble if the plasticard works?

I have received the following from Veho:_

"..
Unfortunately, when the pebble was new there was a batch of devices with this problem. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we can assure you that this issue has been resolved..."

An interesting reply. Did they offer any fix/compensation?
In the UK I would imagine that you have a claim on the retailer under the sale of goods act. I don't remember the specifics but you have up to six years if you can prove that there was an inherent fault at the time of purchase. I'd say that email was good proof.
