Root Velocity 0.4 Notification Icon Update

There isn't a screenshot due to this being a very minor update, but an update I made for myself that I feel like others would like.

This is a metamorph of the following: Battery with %, Gingerbread SMS and Gmail notification icons.

How to install:
1. Download and install Metamorph from the market.
2. Download VelocityUpdate.zip and place in the AndroidThemes folder found on your SD Card.
3. Open Metamorph and select Unzip/Extract New Themes.
4. Apply all! (This will cause a reboot and you will be done!)

What do I do if my phone is hung up on frameworkres.apk? I flashed my rom and have the update in the right folder. Did i need to do something else? Also tried without flashing the rom, both hang on framwork res.apk
 
Got the download from mandroid. Metamorph gives an error saying it is missing some sort of controller and i can't the download from the link to work.
 
you have to be using the default Velocity 4 theme to get it to work bkuz I tried it with the Gingerbread Eclair theme & had to use my backup then it worked fine. pointless for just a battery % & grey gmail notification bar icon(I use handcent so my text notification doesn't show), but I had to try it out lol

Id appreciate if you didnt call peoples work pointless. No one held a gun to your head and made you download anything. Show a little respect.

As for people getting hung up on install, make sure usb debugging is turned on.

I wasn't calling your work pointless bro. no need to get offended. I'm still rocking it myself. I was just pointing out that since I use handcent only the battery % & Gmail icon applies to me. if I offended you, my apologies. keep up the good work
 
I have a question. I was able to get this installed, however the messaging Icon (very oddly) is still the same as the one set from handcent. I haven't used handcent in months, and can't tell you how many fatory resets I've done in that time. Why do i still get the handcent Icon? what should the new icon look like?

Oh, also about 5 minutes after I applied the MM theme, my phone rebooted, and appeared to be factory reset when it came back on. I had to restore my nand backup to make things work right again. Any ideas here?

SO i redid everything and it seems to be working now. HOwever, new questions. What are the chanes of getting this in a different color GRZLA? I love the icons up there, but I don't care for the green color. I would rather have it in white like the gingerbread for eclair update. I do however want to keep the white menu popups (rather than the black) so i haven't reflased the gingerbread for ZVC.

I just applied this metamorph on my phone and i think i messed up the path on the text message icons. I will reupload today with a fixed version. As for redoing an entire theme? I was thinking about doing the elcair style radio/signal, 3g, etc white as well as the other notification icons. I get internet again friday night so things will be more frequent then.

Update: Turns out that the build that velocity 0.4 is based off of will not let me edit the MMS icon/s. They are all .pro files and I can not replace them or even view them. Thanks LG!
 
GRZLA: Me and afteraffekt ran into the same problems! Simple work around: Grab the apk from AOSP Eclair and edit the icons and there and make a flashable zip. Worked great for us!
