Root Velocity 1.2 or Storm Droid?

Which one should I consider getting/waiting for my LG Ally.

I use my lg ally as my primary phone.---I would like speed and good battery life. I am currently running Velocity 1.1 and it works quite well.

Which one would you get?

As a StormDroid dev, i am obligated to get you to at least try StormDroid. HOWEVER, when it comes right down to it, its all about what you want in a ROM. Both ROMs are debloated, run great, have good battery life, exceptional performance, and overall ROCk. BUT, Velocity is no longer being developed. 1.2 is near perfect as is, but StormDroid will see many new iterations, and is still extremely active. on the other hand, however, with velocity, you get Savoxis' AWESOME velocity script backend. all in all, the ROMs really tie in terms of which is the best. You should give them both a try! If you so feel inclined, you could even purchase Boot Manager, which would allow you to have multiple ROMs on a single phone! [market link]

A few notes: i can OC higher on Stormdroid, but my battery life is better on velocity. YMMV, of course, and i strongly suggest you give both a shot. hope i helped!

Wow, didnt even know of boot managers existance, that saves me time for debugging 0.o

Oh yes. It's quite convenient. Yours truly ported it with the help of the devs, and J2cool helped me test it... Although it's finicky and we're still fixing it!

Whichever one you like better. Try them both and the one that you like more is the one go with.

I'm currently running V1.2, and am going to give stormdroid a good run before making my final decision. They are both completely different ROMs, they both offer a different look and feel with various options, so like I said... whatever you like best is the right one.

I put velocity 1.2.1 on my other Ally I have (I like to test them before putting it on my main phone) and so far AWESOME battery life! That phone after charging and just sitting overnight would drop to below 90% (usually 88 or 89%) just checked it after a day and a half and it's still at 100%. I do not have it activated but I do have Wi-Fi constantly on on this phone. Hope this helps somewhat but it would appear that the life of the battery has been greatly improved.
