So i love the new camera, however I looooooved being able to take pictures with the power button. Is there any way to make this possible with the new camera?

Oops, really? Yeah, I'm on jb sourcery and have been since they released their first jelly Bean rom. Guess its been so long that I forgot. If that's the case i imagine I'll just have to wait until they include it. Hopefully it doesn't take long i really really enjoyed that feature.

Edit: thanks for replying tdevaughn! Any chance we'll see that feature work its way into the new camera?

Camera360 App has this feature, you can set your Volume Down button as the camera shoot button, thats what I use.

Ps whats so special about the new camera app -- should I put it on my phone?

other than photosphere, not much if anything imo...
and i wonder why this ported apk doesnt have hdr support like the N4 does, may still be in final testing idk...

The app is compiled to not look for it, won't be possible to recompile until 4.2 SDK is released.

You have a fixed number of times the power button can be pressed before it fails. Without a power button, you're pretty much screwed.

Why you'd want to wear it out even sooner for something unnecessary is beyond me. :D

I prefer to tap the screen to take a picture and use the volume keys to wake my devices when it's available (custom roms/kernels).

Try PGM. Worth every penny and by far the most used app I own.

I prefer using volume keys to take a photo (and to wake the device up). It's easier than having to find the little button on the screen. I take photos of random stuff, sometimes while driving... so that's why. lol.

How are you doing this? What app are you using?
