[Verizon] AOKP Bluetooth Audio?

hammb

Newbie
Ever since I rooted I've been using AOKP. I like the ROM, love the customizability, and for the most part it's been fairly stable. However, I have had one major issue that's been bugging me and is a total deal breaker.

When I pair my phone to my car for phone and bluetooth audio it appears to work fine. I make/receive calls flawlessly. I can listen to music from the audio player without issue as well. However, no other audio will play to the car. Navigation directions, nothing. Other audio apps like MLB At Bat also won't stream to the car. The phone THINKS it's streaming them via bluetooth, because the phone itself isn't playing the sounds over the speaker as well (but it will immediately if I turn off Bluetooth).

Interestingly I have a pair of bluetooth headphones that I use, and the other apps do seem to work through them, but not through my car for whatever reason. I know this functionality DID work before I rooted. I haven't tried any other ROMs...I started on AOKP build 36, and just flashed build 38, it didn't help. I've tried both the stock kernel and Lean Kernel and that hasn't made a difference either. I've thought about trying various kernels, but wasn't sure if there would even be a chance that could fix it.

Anybody seen anything like this? Any thoughts on where to look? I'm afraid I may have to start trying out other ROMs, but I do really like the AOKP ROM overall, and was hoping maybe there was a setting or something somewhere that I'm missing that might be affecting this.

Thanks for any help!

The only issue I have is that incoming calls don't want play thru the speakers, outgoing calls do. I'm using Franco M4.

maybe try the new Liquid rom (1.4) its very similar to AOKP, i was using AOKP M5, and i actually like liquid 1.4 better but back to the point, as we speak im using pandora through my logitech bluetooth mini boombox and sound and range is great (my phone can be in my room 15+ feet away from the speaker) just a thought...im sure this would apply to your car as well

That's pretty bizarre, hammb, because my BT headset streams everything fine: Assistant, navigation, music, movies, online video... everything. I can't vouch for the car's BT: my cars aren't fancy enough to have BT

I am also on AOKP B38 with the kernel that comes with it.

Yeah it is weird. Like I said it DOES work with my BlueTooth headset, just not the car. I would think it was just a matter of something goofy with the way the car pairs or something, except that it DID work before I rooted. Oh well, I"ll probably try a different ROM...maybe even the stock 4.0.4 leak and see how that works.

I just thought maybe somebody knew of a setting somewhere that might effect this. For instance I know when I'm connected the volume by default is adjusting the Bluetooth volume...so I know it THINKS it's connect...just no sound. Blah...

Thanks anyways!

Flashed the latest LiquidSmooth ROM and ran out to my car at lunch and MLB At Bat Audio was streaming through the Bluetooth where it wasn't when I was on AOKP. I'm gonna guess that the Navigation audio will stream as well...I hope so anyhow :)

I'll test that later...but it's a step in the right direction. So far I like the LiquidSmooth ROM anyhow :)
