[Verizon] Apex launcher update 9/24

Has caused major issues. Apex completely keeps force stopping. Had to uninstall update... On sourcery 2.2

Here's the fix I found to this.

Use the recent apps button to go back to Play Store. Hit the back button to see all installed apps, and scroll down to Titanium Backup. Open it. Restore Apex Launcher (App only). Fixed.

If you don't have Titanium Backup, it'll cost: you'll have to wipe and flash the latest nandroid. And if you don't have that and/or aren't rooted? Then I am at a total loss as to what to say... other than wait for Apex to release a fix update. But you can never turn off your phone. EVER. Doing so will lose the Play Store in recent apps and you will never get another shot at updating.

If you have already power-cycled the phone trying to fix it, you'll have to wipe and re-flash the ROM in Recovery. And while you're flashing, come on up to 2.3 :)

This is not pretty.

EDIT: You can TRY Safe Mode as a last resort:

I do not see a "recent apps" button anywhere. Where would that be? I finally got Apex uninstalled and now using ancient Launcher Pro but want Apex back. I tried installing from Playstore but still broken. Uninstalled again. Apex did not appear in backup list so I guess I just have to wait for them to fix it. Since it is not on my phone anymore, I will need to check playstore periodically?

EDIT: Another fix posted in the main forum by JeffRuby is to use the pull-down menu to access Settings, go to Apps and uninstall updates on Apex. SHOUD fix the problem.

 A new wrinkle. Yesterday while the Apex launcher was down I tried Nova Launcher and set up a few screens in it. Then when Apex was fixed I re-downloaded it, restored settings and data, set Apex as default launcher and good to go, right? Well, not so fast. With Apex set as default launcher and screen has been off for a while and I click the screen on---Nova has kicked out Apex and the Nova screens, docks, icons, etc. show up instead of Apex. At first,I thought I just had forgotten to set it as default. Nope, it's listed as default and also in "Default Apps" app. Apex launcher even shows up as Default Home when I go into Nova settings. WTH? Reselected Apex several times as default launcher- but my homescreens keep reverting to Nova.
1. I wonder how this can happen, and.
2. Short of completely uninstalling Nova, how can I remedy this?
