[Verizon] Best ROM for Long Battery Life

Hey everyone!

The title says it all. I have Lollapalooza on Friday-Sunday. I ordered a 3800mAH battery for the event, plus I am bringing my 10000mAH charger with. Any recommendations on a good ROM for max battery life? Doesn't have to be Jellybean, but I wouldn't mind if it was ;).

I am running Bugless Beast Jellybean by Peter Alfonso I think from about a week or two ago. Have the latest releases improved anything?

Sorry if this is a repost, but just wanted some feedback from the best android community around :)!

Thanks

Darc

Agree with Viper, definitely tough to tell especially when you throw custom kernels and settings tweaks into the mix. That said, and considering I typically start with the provided kernels, I'll rate my experience based on that.

First off, JB roms are by far the best battery life roms I've run on this phone. I have run 3 different JB roms to date:

1.) Jellybelly
2.) XenonHD
3.) BAMF

Although I'm currently running BAMF, the best battery life I experienced was on XenonHD. In my opinion and on my phone, it was noteably better than the others. Night and day? No. But better.

I flashed JB yesterday night :). I am going to wait til later in the afternoon to install the newest ROM with the new Binaries. What do you guys think of that battery mod that is floating around the forums lately?

Which ROM did you install? And the battery mod is best when the phone is idle and data and wifi are turned off manually. If you're going to be using your phone a lot (2-3 hours of screen time), then you're going to have to face that the battery won't last much more after that :D

any rom with toggles.

flash the rom (i like aokp)

flash a good kernel (i like francos)

flash the battery mod thing (posted in this section)

toggle data off when not needed, toggle it on, grab emails or whatever, turn it back off, etc. that will get you good battery.

I've got the 3800 mAh battery and get good life with XenonHD and with Jelly Belly. But probably your going to find the kernel will make more of a different than the ROM itself. Lean Kernel or Franco's comes to mind and use some of the underclocking settings. Also, someone has posted a battery booster flashable file that might help you. You can find it here http://androidforums.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus-all-things-root/590046-mod-battery-booster.html

But tweaking your settings in your kernel will probably be your best bet. And turning off unneeded things that pull your battery down.
