Root [Verizon] Bizarre Issue - Need advice

I am running JediX rom oon my note 2 - Verizon carrier.

Out of the clear blue, I am unable to download anything. I get a message saying that I am out of space, yet i have 3.2gb on internal storage and 4gb on my ext SD card. the odd thing is when I look at my storage in settings it says there is 7gb in my misc files. But when you look at the misc files the two biggest things showing are ROM Toolbox Pro -493mb and titanium backup - 350 mb. there are 100 mb of misc things, but it does not add up to 7gb. not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

I'd install clean master from play store and do the default clean. See if that helps. If it doesn't you sdcard might be failing, so I'd shut down your phone, remove the card and see if you can download w/o the card. If it's your card, you can try copying all the files to your computer, then format it in your phone (settings, storage) and copy your files back.

Thanks for your advice. My external SD card is working fine. My internal storage is the problem. I took out the external card and tried to download an app. I got the message "cannot download insufficient storage space" When I look at the storage in settings, it says
Total Space: 16gb
Apps - 3.96gb
pics/videos -517mb
music-6.58mb
Downloads- 5.2 mb
Misc Files - 6.34 gb
Avail Space 6.02 gb

When I click on misc files at the top it says :

System memory 5.77 gb
rom toolbox 199 mb
app manager 88mb
sounds 71.92 mb
Ambiscience 54.11 mb
clockwork mod 41.92 mb
shotcontrol 33.68 mb
smart voice recorder 18.67 mb
plus about 12 items that are less than 2mb.

I have gone through every folder while phone is connected to laptop - Including the cloud folder. nothing is showing up that is 5.77gb m sure whatever the System memory is..its the culprit. but how do I find out what that is?

If you run Clean Master, tap on junk files, then advanced. You should see those files. If you tap on one (or maybe long press?), it should tell you more about them.

Otherwise FreeSpace is a good app for telling you what partition is running low.
