Verizon bloatware battery hogs.

What the heck? I'm not normally a big bloat hater, but come on, according to carat seems to be the biggest hog on this S3. And I don't even use Verizon voicemail, I don't use Verizon backup. Bad move V.

P.S. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A EXCHANGE EMAIL ACCOUNT SET UP ON THIS AND IT IT #3! LOL

Thats rather interesting. The bloatware shouldnt actually be running ( and thus draining battery) if you are not using them. They are normally pretty good about that. Where do they show up on your battery usage? What about their CPU times?

Typically, those apps just load into RAM, which A) We have plenty of, and B) Android will remove them if the RAM is needed anyways.

I do notice it seems to have a VERY low confidence on those. You might need to run it for longer before you get reasonable results.

I have installed carat on my phone and will look into what exactly is going on.

PS: Email is not just for exchange. Its for any email. Thats just the default email app. You are almost surely using that.

EDIT: Checked between Carat and running processes. I can verify that Carat does NOT differentiate between a running process and a cached process. It lists Cached processes as a regular background process. There is a big difference, as 1 is actually running, the other is not.

It will be about a week though it says before I will get its estimated usages for my phone.

I use yahoo mail and touchdown, I have never opened the email app. It's the first thing I get rid of. Looks like it's root time.
