[Verizon] color multiplier?

What is this I hear about modifying the color multiplier values to tweak battery life... what is it / is it safe to change and if so what to change it to and how?

If you use liquid rom (packaged with Francois kernel) then the values are at android default and unchangeable. I believe that changing these is a placebo effect. Just to make you believe it makes a difference.

AndroidKris... whats up man, haven't seen you since I was over in the Ally forums a great while ago.

So how does one go about changing/checking to see if it is set at the default or not?

.46** seems to be default.

I set mine to .267** in ROM control/performance/color multipliers tuning
AOKP b38.

I did a bunch of tweaks all at once and battery life improved from 7 hours to 12 on the stock battery. so whether or not its a placebo, I dunno. I should've tried each thing one at a time.

Edit: stock 4.0.2 ROM to AOKP. Stock kernel to lean kernel. Stock radios to official 4.0.4 radios. Color multipliers tuned down. Put LTE on a switch so its not constantly on, but is when I want it.

Now I'm on the 2100 mAh battery and haven't killed the battery before bed time.

Run em up to .999966, which is where mine somehow got set, and let me know if u still think that. It turns those colors up to a popping level, which also kills battery. Running it lower, like .26, gives you a lower "brightness" level due to less power to all the colors.

is there a way I can change this through the terminal or how would I do that? Eclipse doesn't have a menu option I don't think.
