Yes, it is that simple except you have to follow the instructions provided by the ROM developer, you should always backup your entire phone first in case the ROM doesn't work out, and you have to know what you're doing because as was said in "Forrest Gump", "shit happens."ok so rooting seems to be pretty simple, but how would one go about flashing a ROM? we cant use clockworkmod? on my droid x it was as simple as going into CWM recovery, selecting the ROM on the sd card, and flashing. Is it not that simple on the gs3?
thanks i appreciate the help!!
i wanted to pick your brains some...
If im on stock vzw ICS, can i just root and flash a JB rom?
For a stock JB experience, with the best performance and battery life, which rom do you suggest?
i always root with a stock pre-rooted ODIN flash and go from there...as for "best performance and battery life" there is no such thing...every phone reacts to software differently...
you could run a completely stock rooted version of the latest leak if you wanted..
Yea I was going to do the same, just flash a pre-rooted odin flash. Up to there I believe I will be ok, but after I am rooted and unlock the bootloader, flashing a custom rom is where I am a bit lost.
I would have to save the custom rom onto my phones sd card, boot into recovery (by the way do i need a custom recovery?), and flash the rom correct? May I ask which ROM u are running?
Is there such things as a stock rooted JB rom? with all the goodies such as google now?
