[Verizon] does the factory image have Gapps included

I wanna run stock again. I didn't see a separate Gapps d/l so I think they are. Just wanted to make sure before I flash. TIA

Yes, if you install the factory images provided by google, they contain everything. Gapps, radios, kernel, bootloader, and the operating system.

The Google factory images aren't flashed through cwm. They can only be flashed through fastboot.

When I got the file cwm did not see the file. I found an app that would decompress the file and now cwm sees the file. Why can't I flash it?

My bad, it wasn't there... Time to get stronger glasses.

Yeah, the factory images contain many different parts. They contain .img files for the boot partition, the recovery partition, bootloader partition, and radio partition. It then contains a zip file that contains the android os. Generally the procedure goes as follows:

1) Wipe system, boot, cache, data, and radio
2) flash bootloader & then reboot back into fastboot via command
3) flash radio files (LTE, then CDMA) & then reboot back into fastboot via command
4) flash recovery & boot files.
5) apply update zip to flash android system
6) reboot device.

*WARNING* Do not wipe or delete the bootloader partition, only flash over it. Deleting and then attempting to reboot is about the only possible way to hard brick this device.

Using a toolkit can be preferable to some who don't want to get their hands dirty, but there is no 4.2.2 Factory Image yet for the Verizon Gnex. So you will have to flash 4.1.1 and then take the ota. Also, this will unroot your device and completely wipe it clean.

Thanks. Ended up reflashing the latest sorcery via cwm. I was running it, but it was buggy from my using twrp the first time, and think I just wiped the dalvik and the cache before I flashed. Thanks again.

For the readers, yes the (stock) factory image includes everything; operating system, radios, recovery, gapps. As of this time the latest factory image for the VZW Samsung Galaxy Nexus (toro) is JRO030/Android 4.1.1.
