Root [Verizon] Does Towelroot work with most recent VZW Note 3 update?

Rather than spend $800 for a Note 4, I might go half price and get a used Note 3.

I do not care about roms, since just want to freeze bloat and enable card writes.


Edit: There is a thread that says it does, but appears to be mixed results?
 
It is basically just on a case by case basis. Some it works right away, others it takes a few tries, others it takes forever.

Just hope your luck is good :)
 
Worked in two seconds for me. Most recent firmware here. Doesn't install a recovery or unlock the bootloader though, but you can have fun with Xposed

After those couple of seconds, there was literally no sign it had done anything. But I installed SuperSU and Root Checker and it said 'congrats this device has root access' and I get prompts when an app asks for them.
 
Just to add, you can put a custom ROM on there with SafeStrap. Running hyper drive rl8. Note 3 will display 'custom' on reboots, with an unlocked icon (not sure what that means) but I checked and my Knox counter is still 0x0
