Verizon Edge plan/Worth to switch to the Note III or not

I am eligible for an upgrade on September 2014 on Verizon. I have the galaxy note 2 but would love to get the galaxy note 3 now. I wonder if the Verizon Edge plan is worth it?
 
This is a question best asked in the Note III section, I will move it there as it will serve it's purpose much better there for you, cheers.
 
If you have the note 2 and it does the job for you, I would just wait till you get your next upgrade, by then note 4 should be close to coming out, and you wont have to pay full price for the phone (that is what edge actually is, paying full price for phone, its just broken up into payments).
 
I figured as much as it costs this phone has to last at least 2 years and hopefully 3 so I paid up front the $299...eep! And requested the 6 gb MAXX plan since I was losing my unlimited data. That's a nice consolation prize anyway. At least this way I don't pay full price for the phone over the course of 2 years.
 
You can also look at it that way, but if you like to have a newer device more frequently, then the verizon edge is awsome.. Look at it this way after 6 moths as long as you have paid more the half of the PRICE OF THE PHONE, You can trade it in for a newer model.... Works for me...
 
I understand the EDGE program and know some who think it is great and it does have its appeal in that you are not out of pocket a huge lump sum up front. But when I look at the whole picture paying even $350 for a phone is a lot so I can't see giving the phone back after 6 months or even 12 months and starting all over again. I have never liked to lease anything and that is sort of what you are doing with the EDGE program. But that is just my personal preference.:rolleyes:
 
IMO its better to just sell the device you have and put that into the purchase of a new phone

Personally none if the early upgrade plans are a good choice. They're all designed to keep you in contract longer and pay more
 
My previous phone bricked out of warranty, no upgrade till january. I added a line for $9 a month (for my son) with the note 3, switched the numbers, and gave him an old "dumb" phone. There, new phone at contract price, keep unlimited. And the boy is now on a leash.
 
Also the edge progam was a winner for me today black friday sale verizon only 199.00 note 3 new line of service.. Went over to amazon was 169.00 and they match it..... guess it does pay to shop on black friday...
 
Thanks for the tip about the Black Friday deal. I just bought this phone last Sunday for $299 and they adjusted the price to $199 with no problem. That made me feel a whole lot better! No EDGE program for me though. I still like to pay in one big gulp even though I have to scrimp and save like crazy for months in advance to do it. Now I have extra cash for the accessories and Samsung sent me a 50% off coupon. What to buy? What to buy?
 
The thing also with the edge program, You dont have to wait the full 2 years to get it.... You can have 1 year to the day to upgrade ......... But that is only till jan 14th .. thought id pass it along.....
 
If you ever brick or kill your phone and need an upgrade.

Go into Verizon, tell them you need to buy a phone at full price. Ask and see what they can do to help.
Then ask them if you pay full price for the phone, that you want to upgrade early and the difference from the upgrade price to the full price you want to spend in accessories. This will save you on the tax and etc....

I was then able to sell the accessories I bought and get my price close to the upgrade price.

They will work with you if you are humble about it and cool. The manager will have to sign off on it, but if you are cool about it it should not be a problem
 
I liked the Edge program just because I want to upgrade my phone just about every year, I mean the Note 3 is awesome, and I honestly might just end up jumping on a new contract next time I upgrade anyhow :p
