Verizon Experience

The worst part of this story is that you walked out with a blackberry storm lol.

I said "Got a phone". Didn't say BB Storm. Although that is what I got. At the time that was the only (real) touch screen smart phone Verizon had. It did the job quite well actually. Actually very well. Did everything I wanted.

New Verizon story from just today:
Went to get new cover for DX. The Body Glove one I got with it new had the outer cover separate from the plastic and one of the tabs holding the two halves together broke as did the plastic on the side of one half.
Anyway. Went in to get new one and the salesperson was more than happy to show me about everything in the store except for the case. Finally got to the case and he says "this one is carbon fiber just like the golf clubs...ever seen them". Uh...yeah. So I get it out of the box to make sure it is a good fit and it does. Anyway he hands me the phone with the cover on it and asks me IF I WANT HIM TO THROW THE BOX AWAY. I say...sure, I guess I don't need it. The warranty card falls out and I read it :"90 day warranty". Hmm, haven't had the phone 90 days. I ask if the Body Glove cover has the same warranty and it does. So I ask what I need to do to get the BG cover replaced and what it covers....refund or replacement. At this point he suddenly becomes dumb(unlike all the knowledge he had about all the products he had for sale and the manufacturing process of golf clubs and the like.)
I ask what I need to do to return the old one and he goes and "asks the manager". Comes back and states I HAVE TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL BOX it came in to return it. I question such saying....who keeps the .....Oh wait a minute.......so that's why you were so eager to throw this new box away. I just give him "that look" and walk out.
Went home and low and behold I KEPT THE ORIGINAL BOX and it was with the box from the DX.
I return to to store and then go to the service area and ask about returning a defective cover.
They give me a replacement and a refund for $5.00 for the difference in the price.
I leave and make sure to show the salesperson my new cover and thank him :) Oh and I showed him the box from the new one ;)

KEEP YOUR BOXES!

KEEP YOUR BOXES!

To return a product under warranty, you don't need the box itself but the box's barcode that identify your product. I usually just cut the flap/side with the barcode and save it with the receipt for warranty purpose and it works.

People exaggerate.. especially older or conniving individuals. That's no surprise.
Are you equating "older" with "conniving"? Are you saying that around this time of year it is all the parents exaggerating when they say their children don't "need" all the toys they want rather than the kids saying that they "need" to have them?
