Welcome to AF!!
I see my friend Rx has moved your thread here
There is always a chance you will run into something while rooting that will stump folks.
For example, a member went to root his device and the first file he tried to install rendered his phone useless. He has since sent it away to get fixed.
Now, many others have had great, easy success...myself included. Like Rx, every device I own from now on will get rooted.
Read. That is the best advice I can give you.
Ask questions. 2nd best advice.
Understand the rooting process.
Don't let this scare you tho. There is a "one-click" method now available for our Verizon devices. You will not lose data. But just to be safe, backup what you need to.....more on that later

And don't worry about your questions being silly or dumb, they are not...ask anything...we'll be here![]()
I am that member Mike referenced here and I can say that I was never so shocked when this happened! First time I rooted my GS3, I had absolutely no problem. I cracked the face on it and made an insurance claim for a new device... That is the one I bricked with what I think was a chirped file dl. As I type, I am awaiting the arrival of the unbricked device and am seriously considering the Casual 1 click method.
All I know is, I too will not have an unrooted device, there's just too many advantages
Just do it!
