[Verizon] Google Photo Sync

Can anyone help me get my photos to sync properly? I have the Google Gallery with syncing installed. I see Instant Upload listed in Gallery as well.

Here's the issues:

1) Pictures will not sync to Google+.
2) I have two Instant Upload folders. One is "Instant Upload" and another is "Instant Upload 2009-12-09 - 2011-12-21." I really only want one Instant Upload.

I tried deleting (after backingup!) the DCIM folders and taking a picture with the hope Android would re-create the proper structure, but no luck.

I'm on latest Sourcery with the Google Sync mod. Tried the new Camera/Gallery as well, but same results. Also tried Formula's with sync, but no luck.

I too have this problem. I have 3 or 4 picasa/google instant upload/sync folders in my gallery from different time periods and would like to have just one.

Since you're on Jelly Belly, it doesn't look like it's ROM specific. What Gallery are you using/tried?

Got rid of the extra album. I logged into PicasaWeb and was able to consolidate.

I think I figured it out. Google Photos Sync is a misnomer as it's not an actual sync (upload/download) but a feed (download only).

Going to install G+ and see if that helps.

Update: Upload's working now. But, wtf? It keeps recreating that damn extra folder on Picasa.

Figured out the albums! I have three of the "rogue" galleries with 500 exactly each. So it looks like an album can't have more than 500 pictures.

At least I understand its thinking now. I can figure out some organization using its logic.

To sum up:

  • G+ is needed for uploading
  • Gallery Sync is a misnomer. It's actually a feed
  • Instant Upload is limited to 500 pictures each. It'll auto-generate an album if you go over
Hope that helps someone.

This is actually some pretty solid information. I know that Picasa has a limit to how many photos or how much space you can store, is this still the case with the files stored their via Photo Sync?
