Root [Verizon] Help with i605 thats unrooted with wrong rom

wishiwas

Newbie
I have had my i605 rooted for sometime with the jellybeans rom.
I wanted to upgrade to Kit Kat and successfully installed different roms without issue (the reason I say different is I would install a customer rom and either not like it or I couldn't remove the Google bar, so I switched to a different rom).
Anyways, back on point,
I pushed one rom onto my phone and somehow bricked it.
I read around how to resolve it by odin and pushing a .pit file back onto my phone.
I was able to bring it back to life, but its in a weird status.
Its unrooted but with a custom rom. I'm not sure which rom.
Non the less, I want to root it again. Whenever I follow the rooting procedure it fails as soon as I try to Odin the file CF-Auto-Root-t0ltevzw-t0ltevzw-schi605.tar.md5 to it.
I'm stumped as to what to do.
Any ideas?
Here is some info about the phone.
4.3 OS
Build JSS15J.1605vruemj9
Kernal
3.0.31
Baseband
1605vruemj9
Thanks for your help!

You need to get your terminology right.

Rooted simply means you have elevated admin privileges. Custom roms are already rooted, but you can also root the stock rom.

You can't root a custom rom with CF auto root. It's already rooted and if you lost root with a custom rom thru some very rare condition, booting into recovery and flashing your root files will get it back. CF auto root is only for stock roms.

BTW, if you flashed the latest stock rom with Odin, you have a locked bootloader and although you can probably root it, you can forget about a custom rom, as several people have found out. Last I heard there was no fix.

I would think after nearly bricking it you'd leave it alone.....

CF autoroot no longer works with 4.3 roms. You need to use SafeStrap: [MJ9 LOCKED BL][AlPHA]SafeStrap 3.7.1-v1[i605] - xda-developers
