Ok, wanted to share my story and wanted to hear other's stories about Verizon. Maybe help people get it off their chests. Here's my story:
1. 5/27 - ordered Incredible online. coaxed Verizon into an early upgrade
2. Was told Dinc was backordered, would ship 6/23
3. Get an email 2 days later that it would arrive on 6/1
4. Get my Dinc as promised on 6/1
5. Was told by Verizon store geniuses that I could use my Blackberry wall charger on my phone.
6. Phone battery starts dying after about 3 hrs of use.
7. Take phone back to geniuses at Verizon store and get new battery. The same day, Dinc dies. Won't charge, won't turn one...nada. R.I.P.
8. Call Verizon. Promised a new phone to be overnighted and will arrive on 6/7 or 6/8.
9. Call Verizon after no phone in mail to get a tracking number. No tracking number. Call again and finally told it would be shipped on 6/21.
10. Call again and a supervisor is scouring the country for a Dinc. Offered a free month off my bill.
11. Took dead phone into Verizon store today to see if they could get it to turn on so i could erase my personal data.
12. Manager gets it to come on and says, "it's fine its just 'power cycling'" . I'm like "just wait and see". After about 5 minutes the phone goes off, won't turn, on and when it does, it goes off as soon as you try to do anything.
13. Manager agrees phone is fried and apologizes up and down that his staff told me I could use my Blackberry charger on it. Goes around and tells his staff not to recommend using Blackberry chargers on the Dinc (i witnessed it). Tested my Blackberry charger and it checked out ok. They concluded it was my BB charger. Something about the prongs, despite the same voltage (for all the "wannabe experts" in this forum).
SO, Verizon has my 200 clams and I'm back to the Storm 1, which should have been name the Blackberry Sprinkle. I had an Incredible in my hands and never had a chance to really use it cause i never got any more than 5 hours battery life after my BB charger fried it.
Going to call Verizon tomorrow and hit them up for more compensation. Still contemplating switching to iPhone, but AT&T plan is about $30 more than Verizon plan for less minutes. iPhone users must be doctors and lawyers.
Anyway, share your Dinc or Verizon horror stories.
