Root [Verizon] How to root/flash/anything without debugging ?

Ohboi

Lurker
Got a new Verizon Galaxy s3 with 4.3 and I can't make it past the language screen without wanting me to activate it through verizon. The tapping left right left right volume up method doesn't work and trying to root and flash it won't work I assume due to not being able to enable debugging mode. Is it possible to install via microsd without having debugging enabled ? What else can I do ?

Hello and welcome Ohboi:)
I'm not quite clear on what you mean by the, "tapping left right left right volume up method doesn't work" bit?
Also, you desire NOT to activate the phone? Just curious as to why not?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums!!! Seeing how your attempting to possibly root your phone moving the thread to Verizon Root
They can probably assist you better!!! I put a 3 day hold on to the moving. Good Luck!!!!

Meant 2 day hold

Yes sorry I wasn't sure where to post so thanks! To the first reply, on the verizon s3s durring the setup u select the language and click next to activate but it won't because it says I need to contact Verizon. On most verizon s3s there is a bypass method in where at the language select screen u tap left to right twice and then push the vol up button and it unlocks the phone without having to call verizon but for some reason it doesn't with mine. I just want to use it as a tablet and not as a phone so calling verizon is out of the picture. Too the 2nd post, I'm not exactly sure what steps I need to take. My goal is to just wipe it out and reinstall it (unless there's an alternative way to bypass the activation screen) hopefully with 4.3 or newer but any will do. Just from reading I assume I first need to root it and then flash a new rom. I have read over tons of tutorials but all of them require me to enable debugging mode first which I can't obviously because I can't get beyond the activation screen. I was hoping there was a method that allowed me to do it via microsd but I'm not sure it that would also require me to enable debugging.

I did not know that:) I believe you but why would that be? I mean, folks such as yourself who want to use the device as a tablet or via wifi should be able to do so.

Anyhoo, I really don't know if there is a way to root without enabling debugging mode.
Perhaps someone else who knows more than I do will see this thread, sorry I'm not much help :(
