Root [Verizon] How to???

Proxima

Lurker
Hello all......I need some advice.
I would like to root my device to be able to clean out all the bloatware as well as enjoy rooted apps. Everything I read seems very confusing and I get nervous with people posting how their attempts failed or bricked their phone.
I need some solid how to advice on how to root my phone to obtain the results mentioned.

My phone is a Verizon S3, SCH-I353, Android 4.3, I535VRUCNC1, Build: JSS15J.I535VRUCNC1

Any help would be most appreciated. I am very computer savy, but a newb with phones.:D

There isn't a guide on here for rooting the 4.3 update unless I just overlooked it.

Root Verizon Galaxy S3 SCH-I535 on Android 4.3 without Tripping KNOX

That guide seems pretty straight forward and newb friendly.

Good luck :)

Ok....tried this method but it failed. I cannot cut and paste the text from the .bat file but the essence is that "Your kernal is Patched!" and "This device is not supported" Then is goes on to see if the root is successful, but it reports that it is not.

Could the problem be that this is for an S4?

Any ideas??

You using an s4 or the guide is for an s4? From what I see, the guide is definitely for an s3

I don't understand what you mean by "cut and paste the text from the .bat file" ?
Now, forgive me because I did not root with that method but from what I have read, all you need to do is double click on the "install.bat" file, and it will root the device. ??

I'm still confused myself, above he mentioned an s4. I'm wondering if he's trying to root an s4 and placed this thread in the wrong forum while trying to use an incorrect method.

If so, op is lucky it's just failing.
