[Verizon] I need help with battery life

Got my verizon Galaxy nexus last thursday and I'm loving it so far, minus the horrific battery life. I'm getting only about 2 hours of screen on time and around 6 hours total before the OEM extended 2100 battery is exhausted (no lte either). Currently I'm running jelly belly ROM with little applications sync. Any tips to help me squeeze some more juice would be much appreciated!

Can you give us some info on what is using your battery? Would help us help you narrow down the issue. :)

P.S. I moved this to the VZW All Things Root section, since it may be a ROM-related issue. THanks for understanding. :)

No problem, how do you take a screen shot so I can post my stats ? Is it possible I just need to get a new extended battery since this one was used?

To take a screen shot, press the down volume button and the power button at the same time. And my tips for battery life are try to stay on WiFi for as long as you can. It's much better than trying to connect to a 3g or 4G connection all day. Another is use the auto brightness feature instead of having it at a set percentage all day. Hope it works out for you!

I'm running BB with no changes. I don't know if anyone else is noticing terrible battery life with Google Now on? If it is on maybe turn it off and see if there is any difference.

turn off LTE if you are not using it.

download better battery stats and CPU syp (just until you figure out whats going on)
open BBS, and see if you have any partial wakelocks
if you do, this is probably keeping you awake running the CPU at a low frequency instead of deep sleeping.

open up CPU spy and see what percentage of Deep sleep you are getting. it should be the majority of the time...if it is not, you have something keeping the phone awake.

FWIW, 2 hours screen on is not terrible battery life. i would expect more, but its not horrible. maybe 2.5 hours.
i can go 18 hours on a single charge but my screen on time will be right around 2 hours....or i can go 6 hours like you but it will also have 2 hours screen on time. overall time doesn't make a huge difference, it is screen on time that you have to watch out for...and i would say you are just below average.

Amazing tips highly appreciated

Bugless Beast, stock kernal, no MODs, Seidio 3800 battery.

life is great for me (Battery life that is)

I might be a bit late to the party, but with stock kernel and minimal tweaking 2 hours of screen time is what you should expect.

If you throw on a custom rom and flash a kernel, it's possible to have days of around 4 hours screen time. If you can get your phone to anywhere near 3 hours of screen time you're doing well.

Only other thing I could offer, in regards to screen time, would be to toy around with your brightness settings. For a lot of people, they won't even notice turning it down slightly, too. And every little bit helps eek out more screen time life. I'm using a different ROM, so I dunno if my features are the same, but I turned my regular brightness down, and then turned down the percentage of my Dim setting too, for when the screen first goes dim before sleeping. I haven't put it through a LOT of screen on though, since I've been sitting in work training a while with my phone away.

This has been driving me nuts of late. My uptime on 3g is awful of late. Idling alone drains at least 10% an hour when not on WiFi regardless of kernel. Trinity, Franco, and lean all seem not to help. Still trying to figure it out. I'm on Xenon 9 for now. Don't know if there's any help. Maybe switching back to Bugless will be better.

This is not where I planned on posting this, but for me my battery life has been nothing but stellar and simply amazing compared to what I had read about this situation.

I recieved my i515 last Thursday, Aug 16. Once I charged it and activated it I got about 16+hrs of use. Then after rooting it on Friday, Aug 17 and applying (can't remember who's) 'batterybooster!' I was getting near 24 hours or so.

Now I am on JBSourcery 2.0 and using the batterybooster 'hack' and now am sitting at 13% after 26 hrs of use.

But maybe it has to do with the fact that I am not as glued to this device as others??

I dunno, but my peso's worth.

EDIT, the booster hack is by p-bOt here:
