I'm with mach1man.......
I mistakenly did the OTA. AND I am not techy enough to do the entire XDA jailbreak proceedure. I do not want to brick this badboy. The one touch is something I will pay for.
I need it rooted for the ARLiberater app and others. Any news???????

Well, my wife's phone is in 4.1.2 and on Build # VRAMC3...and I am about to do root with this method...I will post back later:)

assuming that is the latest update?

Edit: well, that was too easy and with no data loss...yay :D
Time to flash a rom without her knowing

Hi Mike....did that "one click root" root the Note and keep the stock ROM?

I'm just looking to unlock my SGNote to use ARLiberator....I want to keep it stock...for now.

Yes it did, but soon after rooting it, I flashed a rom to it....fun:)
But yes, it kept the stock rom...all data intact. Just to be safe tho, backup your internal sd card contents and contacts. I did, just to be on the safe side.

When you say unlocked, do you mean, bootloader unlocked?
I am not familiar with ARLiberator, but I did see it on the PlayStore...is this it?

Yep...that is it. It mirrors your phone and all the apps onto your Pioneer AppRadio 7" screen.
Also....I watched the "one touch video" on XDA and it says it reboots into "Team Win Recovery Project". What is that? Will I have to redownload all my downloaded apps too? I am assuming so.
And I guess I meant just rooted.....not unlocked ....I'm a noob...sorry.

TeamWin Recovery Project is the custom recovery that will be installed:)
The Note 2 comes with a stock recovery which is quite limited as to what the user can do with it.
The TWRP recovery is what I use on my S3:)
Lots can be done in there, including but not limited to nandroid backups, cache and dalvik wipes, flashing rom .zips, mod .zips etc.
Anyways, it's fine when it says that it will install that;)
You will NOT lose your apps or have to reinstall them. :)

No worries about the questions...we've all been there :)

Initialising protocol...

What should I Do!!!!

So, we've got a few people saying it worked and some saying it doesn't. Anyone tried the one click method recently? I'm really interested in doing this as my last phone was the Nexus and was rooted just after purchasing. I've had the Note 2 since January and have the itch to unlock and root, but don't want to mess this great phone up. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply :( Do you have another computer to try it on?

Well, I'll let you know as I had to unroot my wife's phone to send back to Verizon. Turns out she is going to keep it and wants me to re-root it.
She is up to date on the most current updates. I'll post back later when I do it. :)
I foresee no issues. I know others have. But take it with a grain of salt. As with anything, ymmv:)

Edit: yup...it works...no issues.
On to flashing a rom or 2 or 3. :p

I finally did it. It took a couple of try's and THIS IS KEY I needed to turn off my malware and anti virus software before I ran it.

Once I figured that out it went very smoothly.
