[Verizon] Issues lol

Try fixing permissions in recovery. After you flash the new keyboard and gapps, while still in recovery, go to advanced and then "fix permissions." Also, make sure you check md5's (when available).

Hmm... I'm tempted to try to flash all of it again... ugh... but I don't care to restore it all if it doesn't work again :( lol

I would flash them again and try fixing permissions. It shouldn't take long, and if it doesn't work, you have a nandroid to restore right?

I had created a Nandroid back up and tried restoring from it after I had that problem, but it wasn't reverting my keyboard and GAPPS. I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong, or what not. I may try again.

If you made the nandroid after you flashed the keyboard and gapps then the nandroid will include those mods. You'd have to restore a nandroid from before you flashed those mods.

If I were you, I'd go into recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, flash keyboard and gapps, fix permissions, reboot.

Ok. No luck. It keeps force closing. And I can't use the keyboard at all. I'm gonna try to restore my nandroid backup.

I did a restore but the keyboard keeps crashing. :( I don't want to have to flash the ROM again...

Yes, I did it right before I flashed the keyboard. But now it's force closing, and after I fix permissions both in recovery and through ROM manager, nothing happens. Do I have to flash the whole ROM again?

That's what I would do. First, check to make sure all your files downloaded properly by checking md5's or re-downloading them (downloading directly from your phone is the safest way to do it so that nothing weird happens when transferring to/from your phone).

In recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system. Then flash ROM and gapps. Reboot and wait for everything to settle, then go through whatever your normal restore procedure is (or see here for a guide by The_Chief). Reboot and make sure everything is working before flashing the new keyboard.

The other option is to flash a ROM that has this new keyboard baked in already. I'm using Jelly Belly v9.4 and it's got the new swipe keyboard.

I keep seeing md5... yet I have no idea what it is #learning lol

haha no worries. It's an identifier unique to each and every file. If you can check the md5 of the file that you are about to flash (on your phone) and make sure that it is the same as the md5 that the developer has posted, then you know you are flashing the right file. Sometimes a download will botch without you knowing and you'll end up flashing a bad file.

If you use Astro or Root Explorer, find the file, long press and hit details or properties, then wait for the md5 to show up. Then go to the developer's thread (where you downloaded the file from) and see what the md5 should be.
