[Verizon] JB AOSP source release imminent...

Woohoo! JB source release is imminent...

I'm tempted to try CM10 since I imagine it will be available well before a JB-based AOKP. But I still much prefer AOKP.

Bring on the JB ROMs!

I just hope this in combination with the next VZW OTA fixes the mid-call muting issue. If it doesn't, I am going to flip &!^#!* at Verizon and demand an S3 or go to T-Mobile or another provider.

Yup, as are MANY others. And Verizon support is grasping at straws. They tell me it's my old dinc being "partially activated" (not, left it off for a week) and then another guy went through the trouble to send his phone to Samsung, who "replaced a component" - guess what? did not fix it.

I am 99% sure it's something with the verizon towers that only the Nexus causes. Given Verizon's past treatment of the Nexus, the fact that they have a locked SGS3 when the entire rest of the world does not, etc I doubt it will EVER get fixed. I'm really fed up with their denial of this issue and how I've been treated as a 10+ year customer. So much so that I am frankly just ready to leave and speak with my wallet.

And between my family and my wife's, I can easily take about 30 VZW lines with me. Maybe that will get their attention. :rolleyes:

They'll dig their own hole and get bitten one day no doubt about that....we all do :)
 
So at 9PM ESTsource is said to be uploaded complete. Any wagers on when the first JB source based ROM will hit? My bet is 9AM EST July 10th :smokingsomb:

Is it wrong that I'm hoping for an AOKP JB kang? I want JB in the worst way, but I don't want to deal with CM's way of dealing with options (scattered everywhere). Hoping for a quick re-write from the AOKP guys...

Not at all. I'm all over aokp jb the millisecond it hits!
 
So realistically, how soon until the official Verizon OTA occurs, and also how soon until AOKP and Liquid and BAMF get other their custom ROMs?

this is strictly my opinion only

VZW 3 months or more

AOKP 1 month
Liquid 1 month
BAMF 2 months
 
I'd love to be proved wrong, but since they said that they were starting fresh with the jelly bean builds from source, it might be a little more than a week depending on how much they add to the "initial" revision.

They said they were NOT merging and were starting over. That sounds like a hell of a lot longer than a week. I would expect CM to have something out much sooner, since they're merging (assuming the merging goes fairly smoothly).
