[Verizon] low temp kernel

i'm in need of assistance in obtaining a low temp kernel such as the p3 series or bkits kernel.. the problem is i installed this damn franco updater from the play store and now it wont let me install any other kernel. i do know that the bkit kernel is not compatible with the ROM i am running which is aokp v40. for those of you who do not know the app i installed it allows you to run 4 diff kernels the franco nightly and the stable, as well as the imoseyon stable and exp versions. they are great kernels that clock high, but all 4 of them run at approx 40-50 degrees celsius clocked in the 700 area on idle!! plz help i love my gnex and want it to last
p.s. i tried uninstalling the app but the damn kernel stayed...:dontknow:

help me jbdan kinobe u r my only hope

You can flash any kernel you want to. They are very phone dependent aka what runs cool on mine might run hot on others, so you're going to have to experiment to see what suits you best.. As far as the franco app I love it and have run it since he put it out, but don't use it on JB as I like the stock kernel that comes with JB je;lly belly.

If your phone is running hot all the time on different kernels something else is going on, whether it be the cpu or radios struggling to find a signal.

Why don't you try Imo's kernel (flash it in cwm recovery just like you would a ROM) and before flashing wipe dalvik cache. Also try underclocking it a little. Download a cpu app like setcpu or nofrills and monitor what the cpu is doing. Setcpu app will show you how long your cpu was in each state/MHz.

It's going to be a trial and error thing and you'll just have to experiment.
