[Verizon] [MOD] Volume Rocker Wake :)

I have noticed that alot of peeps here really like the volume rocker wake...sooo i made a flashable zip for you guys that will allow the volume rocker to wake the phone.

I have PERSONALLY tested this MOD on JB and I can confirm that it works :D

This is a simple mod in the system/framework/androidpolicy.jar. I got my info from this link

JB ROMS ONLY AS OF RIGHT NOW!!! I AM WORKING ON ONE FOR ICS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE STILL ON ICS. IF YOU ARE NOT ON JB YOU WILL GET A BIG FAT BOWL OF BOOT-LOOPS

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Just flash in recovery

you do not have to wipe anything. Cache and Dalvik are wiped for you via the updater script. ;)

AND IF YOU DECIDE THAT YOU DONT LIKE THE VOLUME ROCKER WAKE...USE THIS TO DISABLE IT :D

*NOTE
once you flash this thing and boot back up, your phone will do what it normally does when the cache and dalvik are wiped and say "Android is upgrading..." and go through your apps and optimize them. But on a couple of the tests that i did on this mod it would do a another really quick reboot after optimizing your apps. It didnt happen every time so it might not happen to you. But dont freak out if it does because after that second really short reboot you will be golden and can enjoy waking your phone with the volume rocker :D
 
Ummm...no...but I will look into it and see what I can do man. That would be cool if I could get that in there :)

well you are in luck my friend because i think i my have found out how to do it ;) it seems like a relatively simple MOD. Ill be working on it for the next couple days and see what i can do.

BUT...im thinking that you might not be able to have the volume rocker wake and the long press song switcher at the same time...but dont quote me on that. but be prepared to choose between the red pill and the blue pill lol

on second thought...the volume rocker long press to switch songs is a HUGE pain! lol...but ill keeping hacking away at it and i should be able to get it working soon :)
 
You're the man. It would be nice to have both but i could live without the volume rocker wake...there is already a wake button ;)
