[Verizon] NANDROID and Radios

I just want to clarify that I am very new to this whole rooting and roming game. I believe that i flashed 4.0.4 onto my unlocked and rooted galaxy nexus. My question is if I did flash 4.0.4 but I had made a NANDROID backup of a stock but rooted and unlocked 4.0.2 prior and I want to go back to that so that I can flash AOKP will my radios be reverted back to the 4.0.2 radios?

I am sorry for asking what I assuming is a relatively straight forward simple question but I have been reading these forums and XDA for a while now and I just want to make sure what I'm doing is right.

Alright thank you so much binary. Is it important that I revert back to the 4.0.2 radios assuming that I want to run AOPK and potentially the franco kernel? Again sorry for these questions I just have no idea what I'm doing and I'm trying to be extra careful.

**Sorry I found the answer to my question. Again thanks for the help Binary Visions I appreciate it!

The radios are ROM-independent. Run the radios that work best for you.

That SHOULD be the case, but people should be warned that there are some ROMs out there where people bundle in radios. I'd avoid those like the plague, but just want people to do their homework (read changelog/info on the ROM) before blindly flashing. And of course leaked OTAs and RUUs (for other phones) would include a radio.

Well, sure, anything can be bundled into a CWM installer. That doesn't mean that there's any dependence in the ROM for them, and the worst case is simply that some new radios were bundled into the ROM you install, and you'll be running that version instead of whatever version you previously had. It won't actually hurt anything.

Normally yeah, but an interrupted/bad flash of the radio is one of the only ways to truly brick the Nexus. Which is why people flashing a new ROM and unfamiliar with it should just do a quick double check on whether it includes a radio or not. Then they can at least decide if the (minimal) risk is worth it not, etc.
