Ok I am following this video and download the link and went into system recovery and selected the ROM zip file called FTL_AOSP_4.3_JSS15J_toro_07242013, and then click reboot system and it just says Android in blue flashing letters, it's stuck on the screen, what do I do?

And here is the ROM.

Got it working now, had not left it loading long enough but google now is missing.

Ok never mind had to install the gapps, now everything is working except when I go to about phone it says 4.3, but when I keep clicking on it or hold it down the jelly bean animation does not come up and I can't download VZW Backup Assistant cause on the play store it says Verizon Unknown ASOP On Toro.

Good to see you followed a guide. Personally Wuggs Root Kit is really easy to follow, so next time maybe follow that.

Otherwise good luck and hopefully you enjoy your new ROM!

I'll just add this. Since VZW hasn't released an update to Android 4.3 for the Gnex this is bound to happen. But with Google doing it's own backup and restore, I doubt that VZW backup assistant does much more. . .

I am sure it is more up to date, but VZW backup assistant used to be used on their old feature phones. . . .

It will take months, many many months. They are so horrible about updating stuff.

Follow this guide
Flash ROM
Flash GAPPS
Flash SU zip
and you will have a Stock, Rooted 4.3 Nexus. There is a 4.3.1 out now too, same thing, flash in order...
(4.3 ROMs are Not Rooted, by flashing the SU zip, it will root automatically)

[ROM] [4.3][Linaro] [JSS15J] FTL Modded AOSP | Galaxy Nexus > XDA
This is so weird, I just flashed that ROM again and the google keyboard is gone, good thing I made a backup lol, every 4.3 ROM that I have tried has been buggy as hell.
