[Verizon] Need help using ClockworkMod Method.

i have been using this guide and i install the su zip and then i click reboot system now and nothing happens just shows a top hat on the screen, wait somehow it rebooted and but i don't see a superuser icon, so i downloaded one from the market, but i have no idea if it worked or not cause this one app is saying this app requires a rooted phone

Chances are your not actually rooted... I think u should try the entire process again via toolkit.. what toolkit are you using? The toolkit I use (galaxy nexus toolkit) rooted my phone for me..

and i not using any toolkit just downloaded those two files but now when i go into recovery mode and there is a red exclamation mark
 
Once downloaded, plug your phone in via USB and ur PC should automatically install the driver software if you have not done so already
 
Umm the link didn't have v7 on my PC I just checked lol, but I suppose it couldn't hurt.. there should be shortcut on your desktop that says galaxy nexus root toolkit

just tried the toolkit and it says waiting for device when i give it a command, yes phone is unlocked
 
when you launch it select your model type (it should be CDMA/LTE-verizon)
next you must configure your drivers using the guide labeled initial setup
all you have to do is click the box that says :full driver installation guide
then click automatic and follow the instructions

i already have drivers from samsung, those will not work here?
 
Its a good idea to go through the install to make sure its a updated driver as well as the driver that is compatible with the toolkit
 
After that all you have to do is backup your contacts, apps and anything else you want to keep.
Then the final step is to click the root button and follow instruction. Hope this helped...
 
The toolkit will also allow you to install gapps, APK files, themes, other ROMs of your choice at the click of the appropriate button.
