verizon offered me a compromise

Then it was able to be turned on and thats his own bad. lol.

pretty much.

asuming that hes smart enuff to not simply had a bad battery, the vast majority of phones that turn off and wont turn on at all are never going to turn on again. he either didnt work with the phone enuff,or he just has the worse luck in the world, lol.

even the phones that have bricked by becoming stuck in an endless bootloop wether booted to recovery or the normal OS have been able to be returned to stock(afterward bootlooping between the stock OS or stock recovery :))

i promise, that even if we give your friend the benefit of the doubt that hes not a complete moron his situation is not a likely one to happen.

ill go a step further, and state that if you pay for insurance, they will replace it,period. wether you root it,drop it in the pool, run over it with your car,or lose it,as long as you pay your monthly $7 and pay the $99 deductable youll get a new one no matter what you do it it.

you do have insurance,right?

Whats a ...deductable? I dont have that...lol. Assurion sucks, I much prefer MDPA. They send NEW phones when theres a hardware issue, and not refurbs. However the turn around on getting your phone back is about a week and a half. Theres always pros and cons. :-P

nope tried my battery in it even tried power button and volume down and it was still completely unresponsive he is an idiot but i even tried it with no success.... so who wants to walk me through everything about rooting haha ive started reading the stuff and my add kicks in and yeah game over haha

You do understand that when verizon gives you a different phone, you are going to have to renew your contract so no more unlimited data for you my friend. BTW they should have been offered you a new phone after the third replacement.

Nope, they stopped doing that about six months ago. Theyll just keep sending you refurbs now. I found that out the hard way when I had to keep calling VZW and getting my mom a new phone six times.

already asked them that question and because they are replacing a defective device it doesnt renew my contract... and they dont replace your phone after the third time anymore just like they are doing away with new every 2 and unlimited data is already gone for everybody according to them

I think they'll replace your phone if there are extenuating circumstances. In speaking with the manager at my local Verizon store (see my "poo" thread) he said that he hasn't heard about a bad batch of refurbs, but said that if it is something that needs to be addressed, that he'll make sure I'm taken care of. We'll see. You figure if Verizon charges $500 for a "refurbed" phone then that $$ should go towards something that will satisfy the customer. I guess the customer is always right is a dated term.....
